Larmer Tree Gardens
Muddy says: We love the breezy, open air vibe at Larmer Tree. With ornate gardens, pavilions, halls and secret spaces, it’s perfect for the quintessential English country wedding
Oh my God, I’m going to ditch the hubby and get married again, just so I can do it here. This beautiful 11-acre estate is set in the heart of the Cranborne Chase on the Dorset/Wiltshire border and is an utterly fabulous setting for weddings, receptions, parties or events. There are 11 acres of ornate gardens, two incredible pavilions, a Jubilee Hall, Lower Indian Room, General’s Room, Singing Theatre (shall I keep going?) and everything else you could think of to host the quintessential English country wedding. But more than that they’ll throw you a unique Secret Garden Wedding, perfectly designed for those wanting something smaller, something intimate and with less pomp and ceremony (and waaaay less distant relatives).
The Larmer Tree was one of the first Victorian Pleasure Gardens, an extraordinary example of Victorian extravagance and now home to free roaming peacocks and pair of macaws. If a winter wedding is more your bag, their stunning indoor spaces’ll do the trick. Go for October or November when The Larmer Tree is aglow with the changing colour of the trees, or think snowflakes falling, white fur capes and a lingering mist adding mystique to your December or January nuptials. They can’t promise you snow, but it has happened before…
A gorgeously romantic setting, a temple to get hitched in, Pimms alfresco on the lawn…it couldn’t be more perfect. Right, Mr Right. Where’ve you been hiding?
