Timbrell’s Yard

Muddy says: Thumbs up for this cool Bradford-on-Avon gaff, serving fresh West Country meals and snacks, and all absolutely delish

This Grade II listed building, lovingly refurbished in 2015, sits alongside the river Avon in the centre of Bradford on Avon and is the perfect haven for eating, drinking and staying in this gorgeous little town.
The kitchen is overseen by Tom Blake, ex River Cottage, serving hearty hot food as well as snacks and pastries all day long from dawn ’til dusk and right on into the night – think pan-fried hake, pot roasted cod with chorizo and roast belly of Gloucester Old Spot, as well as sea salt and fennel crackling, celeriac fritters and grilled baby corn for lighter bites.

As well as their cool restaurant and bar, Timbrells Yard also has a large, sunny terrace and 17 super smart en-suite rooms funky enough for all Mudsters – book the larger rooms with beamed ceilings and freestanding baths with views over the River Avon, or the more contemporary loft suites with split level bedroom mezzanine and picture windows.

It’s the perfect spot to explore Bradford on Avon and Bath (a mere 7 miles away) both packed with stunning architecture, historic places to visit, cultural activities and boutique shops. It’s also the perfect time to get Christmas shopping and buy someone special one of their coveted Timbrell’s Yard Gift Vouchers. They start at only £25 and can be used towards drinks, dinner or bedding down for the night at Timbrell’s Yard or any of their sister properties, The Swan in Wedmore, Somerset, The White Hart in Somerton and The Grosvenor Arms in Shaftesbury. They’re one of our fave gifts this year for the girl/man/mum who has everything.
