Got a style conscious teen at home? Muddy has snooped out these fab-tastic sweaters for the young (and older) men in your life
Ooh, we at Muddy are so in the know…We’ve just discovered fab local design house MG Rivers, whose cutting edge, bang-on-trend sweaters (with a ’70s twang, obvs) are looking to create a huge impact on the style circuit in 2019.
The knit merino V-neck jumpers combine British design with super-soft Italian yarn, with a funky neckline trim and in colours to knock socks off (think Prussian Blue, Mustard, Fuschia Pink, Olive Green and Black). We even love the way they have embroidered the MG Rivers signature on the back.
The jumpers are designed not only to create a lasting impression but so they can be worn from the office right to the pub, from town to country, and from board meeting to rock concert (assuming the man in your life is this cool…) MG Rivers is the baby of Juliette Sherwood, who grew frustrated with the lack of stylish fine knit jumpers available for men (always loads in navy or black but lacking any impact or colour), so she set out to inject colour into the men’s fashion market with a striking, super soft, quality fine knit jumper. The design is British – the yarn is made in Italy. Oh, and they’re eco-friendly too, natch.
Onto the nitty gritty. You all know how we at Muddy love eco-friendly products, so it’s great news that these jumpers fit right alongside that. MG Rivers ensure that their jumpers are made in the best possible manner – they know the whole journey of the yarn, from the sheep onwards, and make sure that everything is created as ethically and sustainably as possible. While the design takes place in the UK, the yarn is made in Italy in a sustainable factory that prides itself on being as environmentally friendly as possible (think recycling and purifying its water and using green electricity). It even reuses the heat generated in the yarn-dyeing plants, for the heating of production areas. Even the sheep are happy in MG Rivers’ world…
