Ready to partyyyyyyy?
Got those party invites flooding in? You're gonna need a whole new wardrobe then (any excuse!)
I know we are officially allowed to use the C word now that it’s October but, hey, let’s not wish the year away. Let’s call it the Party Season instead…and I’ve been to see the lovely Rose, owner of uber-cool Spirit Fashion, for some serious inspiration for my party wardrobe. I want to go funky this year and this Devizes boutique punches well above its weight when it comes to brilliant brands and stylish pieces, so I’m not surprised at all when Rose whips out her coolest and hippest garb. Right, all I need now is those invitations to come flooding in…
Let’s start with floaty, glam and traditionally beautiful. Adrianna Papell is a New York designer who does fabulous occasion wear – pair with a reversible silk bomber (yes, you did hear me right. Bottle green on one side, animal print on the other. Get me one of those RIGHT NOW!) from Tramontana and you’ve got a properly funky look. The lace dresses from Tramontana are also bang on trend for AW 17.
Fancy a bit of colour? Go for Onjenu, a fun, young brand that’s all about living life in colour. Slinky non-crease fabrics can be shoved safely into an overnight bag when you’re off for that party weekend, and you can’t beat their loud print jumpsuits.
Pair a stretch black lace top from Scandi brand Freequent with midnight velvet trousers from French Connection or one of Freequent’s own midi skirts with teeny tiny pleats. Or go for Danish Culture‘s black luxe joggers with lurex down the side. Ooh, yes, baby. Top with a studded poncho in grey or taupe from the divine Tilley and Grace (grab one of their long printed scarves while you’re at it) and you’re set to paaaaar-teeey.
Right, outerwear. I love a coat, me, but goddamn it have you seen the leopard print coat with starburst lining from King Louie of Amsterdam? Well, get your thieving hands off it ‘cos it’s mine, all mine (cue hysterical laughter.) Team with a gorgeous handmade shoulder bag from Owen Barry in buttery soft leather (made in Somerset, thank you very much. You know how we like to keep it local) and some seriously sexy over-the-knee boots from Alpe. I’ll take the brown suede ones with studs – just love their town-to-country-and-back-to-town vibe.
Finishing touches… Jewellery from Sence (we are loving this cool Scandi brand’s use of leather and semi-precious stones), an eel-skin purse and scarf from ever-faithful Beck Sondergaard and a few more sparkly gems from Tutti and Co (check out their necklace/bracelet/earring combo) and it’s party time! Oh, nearly forgot. Grab yourself a set of super-hot undies from Lepel. Ready? You at the back there? I said, ARE WE READY?? Good. Then out you go, lady!
