Back to Interiors

One of the UK’s best interiors fairs is back!

Is your vibe is a bit less IKEA, a bit more stylish one-off statement pieces? If so, you’re going to absolutely LOVE the legendary Bath Decorative Antiques Fair, taking place this month

The perfect mash-up of Autumn house revamp and indie business browsing, the Bath Decorative Antiques Fair is back, with around 50 of the UK’s top dealers, at the Bath Pavilion from Fri 22 to Sun 24 Oct.

What’s totally brilliant about this interiors Fair, which has been going for over 30 years, is the sheer breadth (and quality) of what’s on offer. Whether you’re into English country house style, mid-century design, industrial chic, glam 80s and 90s style or rusty (in a good way) garden furniture, you’re sure to find something unique and beautiful to drool over. Come to browse, buy or just be inspired.

Tickets costs £5 but you can get them for free here. In the meantime, here’s a taster with a few of the things that caught our eye.

Glitz and glamour

House of Hummingbird, Bath

These opulent geometric coffee tables are Hollywood Regency (think lacquer, chrome, and mirrored finishes), a style inspired by the homes of stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age, like Joan Crawford. Designed by De Wulf for manufacturers Belgo Chrome in the ’70s, that’s 23 carat gold on those legs.

The ice has it

Crackle glazed ice bucket, House of Hummingbird, Bath

To put on your glitzy table: an equally glam ice bucket, with gold handle and matching ice tongs.

Form and function

Greencore Design, Wales

No gold legs here. The Bauhaus ethos of simple, functional, craftsmen-led design, means that these 1930s teak and leather chairs will be as comfortable as they are good looking.

Dutch courage

La Place Antiques, Arundel

Got the chutzpah (and space) for this whopper? The ornate 18th century Dutch linen press has scraped back historic original paint on the outside and is painted a glorious sky blue inside.

Feeling fruity?

Tropical fruit by Mary Fedden, Thomas Spencer Fine Art, West Dorset

Fancy owning a piece by an artist with work in the Tate? Mary Fedden OBE (1915–2012), who painted ‘Tropical Fruit’ has ten works in their collection. But not this one…
