The hottest festival around – it’s Lechlade!

Get ready to party this summer, with 3 fun-tastic days at this multi-award winning family fest alongside the Thames

Get ready to party at Lechlade this 24-26 May, with the return of everyone’s fave family festival. Following last year’s event with bumper record numbers of festival-goers, this year’s promises to be even bigger, whilst sticking to the festival’s roots as a family friendly event. Think comedy, camping, boutique glamping, free music, dance and craft workshops, circus skills tent and burlesque – and with fab food, real ales, stalls and rides, what more could you ask for?

Ready for the fun stuff? The line up, as ever, is tip top with over 100 performers, and headlining are…wait for it…The Feeling. This Ivor Novello-winning, Brit Award-nominated band will be playing all the hits from their Twelve Stops and Home Album including Sewn, Rosé, Fill My Little World, Love it When You Call and Never Be Lonely. Not your bag (are you mad)? That 80s Rock Show are back on Saturday night to pay homage to the era taste forgot, performing 80s stadium rock anthems and power ballads with larger than life characters.

Friday night is once again dedicated to tribute bands with the Marley Experience, the number one tribute to the late great king of reggae, Tasha Leaper as Madonna and Faux Fighters heading the line-up, while Sunday night sees swing-honkytonk-rockabilly band Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra bringing electro-swinging, foot-stomping, jump-jiving magic to the Cotswolds. Expect boogaloo, ragtime hokum, country blues and more from this bonkers band, with influences from Bob Wills to Django Reinhardt, George Jones to Tom Waits.

Elsewhere, the stupendously popular Missy Malone and Friends Burlesque Revue offers a little bit of tease and titillation (oo er) with their glorious cabaret show, although we promise you it’s all sleek and chic and done in the best possible taste. If comedy’s more your thing, Lechlade will rock you with laughter on the funny stage. The Comedy Tent offers an alternative form of entertainment on the Friday and Saturday night; sponsored by Edwards Bays Ltd, it boasts a lively line-up of stand up and comedy musicians, including Nailsworth-based Gavin Pond and Glos comedians Nick Manzonowicz and Eddie O’Keefe. Watch this space for the line up.

*HOT OFF THE PRESS* Lechlade have just announced a collaboration with Sofar Sounds Swindon, adding an exciting 5th stage to the boutique festival. Think, quirky, unusual, intimate…Sofar transforms everyday spaces into captivating venues for secret, live shows, creating an immersive experience bringing guests and artists closer together. The team are keeping the design of their performance space under wraps for now and are soon to announce their line-up. Oo er!

Fancy a splurge? You’ll find loads of local traders including Pip’s Vintage Emporium, eco-friendly Bagz-n-Bitz and handmade purses and pencil cases from Pretty Craft, with more to add to the list soon. Don’t forget the Mudlets – there’s loads of free fun stuff for them including street dance, storytelling, arts and crafts, music workshops, belly dancing, a play tent, yoga, pilates and circus skills, natch. They’ve even got paper aeroplane competitions and woodland learning.
