Iris & Olive, Warminster
If you’re looking for a high street sanctuary that sells gorgeous, thoughtful gifts, Iris & Olive is the place for you.
Whether you’re looking for luxury bath oils, fancy garden twine or a carefully curated selection of candles, Iris & Olive on Warminster High Street should be your first port of call.
So much more than just a shop, Iris & Olive’s owner Carlee Wakefield wanted to make shopping in the space an immersive experience, with a reading corner for children to test out the books and plenty of space to browse and take your time in a no-pressure environment. “I love giving thoughtful gifts but often had to travel or order online to find an assortment of what I was looking for,” Carlee says of her motivation to launch Iris & Olive, which opened its doors in early 2020.
“We sell gifts that aren’t just ‘for the sake of buying stuff,” she explains. “Gifting should be thoughtful and with intention and not necessarily expensive either. A lot of items we sell promote an experience or feeling.”
Carlee is on hand to help out stumped shoppers, explaining that finding out who someone is buying for and what their interests are is key to thoughtful gifting. “Even if it is someone not well known to our customer, we have a wonderful range of teas, coffee and chocolates that are always a sure success,” she says. “It’s important to give people the space to browse, but we are always on hand to help.”
The extensive range of luxury items in Iris & Olive has been lovingly selected to make gift buying easy, Carlee says. “We sell a mixture of well know brands, independent makers and UK businesses. We also have some ready-made gift boxes, for those in a hurry.”
“Our wonderful customers are such a great reminder of why kindness and community is king,” Carlee says. “The shop has given myself and others a wonderful space to collect stories and share memories, in a way you can’t online.”
