Muddy says: A gorgeously affordable, cosy and relaxed B&B a mere stone’s throw from Stonehenge – we love it!
Have you discovered this beautiful grade II listed historic home on the outskirts of Shrewton yet? Close to the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge, Rollestone Manor has a glorious history going back to 1242 (some original features are still there), which richly resonates throughout the house and the the seven ensuite bedrooms.
A winter stay is perfect, with a warming log burner in their cosy lounge, or visit in the warmer months and bask in summer sunshine on their garden swing seat. Rooms are comfortable and stylish while retaining the house’s history – think four poster beds and roll-top baths. And you don’t need to stray far for your supper – their restaurant rustles up such deliciousness as oven baked snails in garlic and herb butter, pan-fried tiger prawns and game terrine, and to follow, smoked Wiltshire ham, a cassoulet of slow cooked confit duck leg, sausage, bacon and white beans, lamb shank, sirloin steak and seared sea bass. And I’ve got my eye on the brown sugar meringue for pud!
Having a party? You can hire unique Rollestone Manor exclusively for a celebration with family and friends. Arrive for afternoon tea with a glass of champagne, relax in the lounge for pre-dinner drinks, enjoy a three course dinner in the restaurant with wine and wake up in the morning to a full English breakfast!
