Muddy says: We love love love these oh-so-cute genderless kids’ pjs, made from ethical organic cotton, natch.
Big Muddy love goes out to ToucanToucan, a new brand of genderless kids’ pyjamas from a husband and wife team in Wilts. With kids’ spending 40% of their childhood asleep (doesn’t seem like that in my house, sometimes!), it’s worth thinking about what they snuggle up in. Over to ToucanToucan, founded by parents of ‘one of each’ who discovered it was actually pretty tricky to snaffle up sweet, traditional style jarmies for little people which were gender neutral, made from soft, organic cotton, and, most importantly, not going to cost the earth.
We love their ethos – that kids should be free to define themselves. If your son wants to wear a ‘princess’ dress, why not? If your daughter wants to wear a superhero suit, who’s to stop her? They are all about non-gender defining prints, patterns, and colours – and these hand painted illustrations are digitally printed onto gorgeously soft Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified cotton. All organic, of course, so not only are the pjs better for skin, they are better for farmers and the environment too.
We love their traditional button through pjs, and for tiny ones their sleep suits and sleeping bags are to die for. You can also upgrade your ratty old muslins (well, mine were) for rather smart toucan muslin squares, and the same for swaddling wraps. And their soft animals are just gorgeous – choose from Enid Los Monkey, Algernon O’Lion, Nigel McMouse, Ursula von Giraffe and Fenella d’Elephant. Where did those fab names come from?
