The Alfresco Film Company, Wiltshire College Lackham, nr Chippenham, 18-19 Sep
A selection of great films in stunning settings, Alfresco’s rescheduled late summer dates are still going ahead (subject to any changes – stay tuned), but all film goers will get socially distanced deckchairs and all the 2-metre apart snack and food services, along with a giant LED HD screen of course. If you want your own private, pop-up experience you can even hire Alfresco to come to your own back garden and set up a 13ft screen (from £400+ VAT) – the ultimate non-drive, drive-in. Book here. The Early Early Christmas Fair, 21 Sep – 1 Oct

Live screening of Romantics Anonymous, various venues, Thurs 24 Sept
When gifted chocolate maker and painfully shy Angélique takes a job at equally socially anxious Jean-René’s struggling factory, a fragile love affair unfolds. Wise Children’s fully staged, live streamed musical directed by Emma Rice (former artistic director of the Kneehigh Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe, where the show was first seen) is beamed in direct from the Bristol Old Vic. Live screening of Rambert’s Draw From Within, Theatre Royal Bath, Thurs 24 & Fri 25 Sept
Rambert’s London South Bank studios will be transformed into a series of contrasting, vivid theatrical worlds, some dream worlds, some nightmares, some turned upside down for their first real-time, live-stream performance with leading choreographer and film-maker, Wim Vandekeybus. Tickets £10 per household.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year’s festival will not take place in its usual form. However the LitFest will continue its outreach programme, running activities for the community – mainly online – including the annual Big Town Read, free author talks for local primary schools as well as competitions for all ages. This year’s Big Town Read will be a free, virtual event, taking place on Saturday 26 September at 6pm. Register for the online session with author Louise Doughty, where you’ll be able to put questions to her about her latest novel, the 2020 Big Town Read Platform Seven.
Bowood House, Calne
Discovery waits around every corner at the gorgeous Bowood estate, with 100 acres of beautifully landscaped ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland and, especially for Mudlets, an adrenaline-fuelled Adventure Playground featuring a life size pirate ship plus a soft play area for the younger children. Day Visitors are now able to visit Bowood House & Gardens by purchasing a ticket online in advance. Access will be controlled using a timed, wristband system – wristbands will be allocated at admissions on arrival, giving each family the chance to access the Adventure Playground for two hours during the course of their visit. www.bowood.org
River Bourne Community Farm, Laverstock
Wiltshire’s only FREE to visit community farm (just what we like to hear), it sits prettily on the edge of Salisbury by the River Bourne, overlooking stunning water meadows. They are open for limited hours each day of 10am to 1pm. Go to their website and book a slot. The café and farm shop will be open for drinks, cakes and ice-creams from 10am to 1pm.
Wiltshire Music Centre, 26 Sep
To celebrate the reopening of Wiltshire Music Centre on Saturday 26th September the Centre plans to host a FREE community concert, featuring performances by many of the local groups who work out of the Centre – including Wiltshire Young Musicians, the Zone Club and many more – followed by an energetic performance by local folk stars the Carrivick Sisters. Bring the family, a picnic and the sunshine if you can for this fantastic outdoor concert on the lawn, which marks the start of WMC’s return to live events.

We’re thrilled to announce that La Cotonniere is now alive, with lots of new products in store! Their face masks are just flying; they designed and manufactured them in their factory in Turkey, made out of non-woven technical fabric with special breathing technology. They are washable, re-usable and come individually in re-sealable pouch.
