Be more organised
It’s hard to focus on what’s important when there's a growing list of ‘things’ to do - so here are our tips on how to restore order.
1. Don’t procrastinate and waste time thinking about what needs to be done
The longer you wait to do something, the more difficult it is to get it done. Try to set aside some time each day, even if it’s only 10 minutes to start with, to get one of the things done on your ‘to do’ list – you will feel great every time you cross off one of the jobs.
–
2. Lists, lists, lists
Write yourself a weekly ‘to do list’ and give yourself a time frame for when you want to have completed each task. Keeping organised goes hand in hand with staying productive.
–
3. Keep a diary
Feeling over-whelmed and stressed can play havoc with your memory and forgetting an important date can have awful repercussions. Spending time to enter these dates into your phone diary with an alert will save you time in the future and give you peace of mind that you will never forget a special occasion or anniversary.
–
4. Plan ahead
Save money and time by planning ahead with your daily meals. Set up an online grocery delivery for all your weekly essentials.
–
5. Stay tidy
Declutter as often as you can. Whether it’s your office desk or your clothes in your wardrobe you will feel much better for it. Keep only what you need and what you really want.
–
6. There’s no time like the present
Get clothes repaired and dry cleaning done as soon as it’s needed rather than putting them in a bag at the bottom of the wardrobe.
–
7. Delegate
A really organised life is not overfilled with responsibilities, meetings, and deadlines – so it’s important to delegate tasks to the other members of your household.
