<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-space">THE SPACE</h2>



<p>You’ll find this supremely stylish co-working and office space in the pretty village of Holt, just outside Bradford-on-Avon. <a href="https://www.glovefactorystudios.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Glove Factory Studios</a> is an easy 20 minute drive from Bath or Chippenham, yet you&#8217;re immersed in some of Wiltshire&#8217;s prettiest countryside. The site itself is pretty stunning too, with vast industrial heritage windows looking out over glassy lakes, lush fields and sun-drenched courtyards.</p>



<p>The site has over 60 workspaces, including several private studios that can accommodate businesses ranging from 1-20 people. You&#8217;ll also find dedicated desks in shared studios and a large, light-filled co-working room. </p>

<p>If you&#8217;re building your business or working solo, the flexibility here is a bit of a game-changer. Membership options range from pay-as-you-go to long-term contracts for those wanting full studio hire. And if you&#8217;re after privacy, you&#8217;ll find breakout spaces and single-person call booths, all tastefully decked out with velvety benches and acoustic padding. There are four meeting rooms for hire too, seating from 4-24.</p>



<p>There are lots of stress-busting practical details too, like masses of free parking, electric charging points and ultrafast broadband. Members also have 24/7 access to the buildings, which is handy if you like to get an early start (or you&#8217;re a night owl). </p>



<p>Need a brain break? Take a lunchtime dip in the wild swimming lake, have a knockabout on the village tennis courts next door, or pop over the road to The Court Garden, one of the National Trust’s best kept secrets. It’s worth knowing that Glove Factory Studios is pooch-friendly too, with miles of walks on the doorstep.</p>

<p>The design aesthetic here is impeccable, and it’s perhaps not surprising. The co-founders have some serious credentials – they are also the brains behind London’s Great Western Studios and Westbourne Studios. In 2008 they relocated to the south west, where they renovated this former tannery in Holt. Their aim? To develop the industrial heritage complex into a rural hub with a distinctly urban vibe.</p>



<p>They’ve certainly succeeded. The light-filled Club Room is a flawless combo of Soho Home velvet chairs, locally crafted timber tables and lashings of indoor plants. From sumptuous banquettes to bar stools and sun-drenched courtyards, there are plenty of spots to get into the groove. You’ll find thoughtful touches too, like charging stations, magazines and stunning sculpture from Emily Young, Britain’s foremost stone sculptor. If you haven’t seen her work, we urge you to check it out – you&#8217;ll find pieces exhibited in the courtyard, Club Room and overlooking the lakes.</p>

<p>Natural textures are big throughout the complex – think everything from exposed brick to honey-hued stone and even a large suede-covered wall. Even the lighting is a joy – no lurid strip-lights here. Instead, it’s a meticulously curated combo of spotlights and pendants, plus plenty of the real deal streaming through the vast industrial-style windows. The natural colour palette is also a carefully curated combo of deep greens, blues and rich autumnal shades.</p>

<p>The office ecosystem here is top notch, but this place is about way much more than hard graft. It’s a thriving community of well-established businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups, and you’ll find tons of opportunities to connect and collaborate. The monthly members drinks always draw a crowd, keen to network and hear what others are up to. There’s the added allure of delicious nibbles, and the chance to tuck into a Prosecco or two. &nbsp;</p>



<p>On a day-to-day basis you’ll find tons to ignite your creativity, from lunchtime HIT to lakeside yoga, Pilates and seasonal supper clubs. The biggest challenge is squeezing it all into your diary. Members also get free access to&nbsp;<a href="https://glovedippers.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Glove Dippers</a>, the onsite wild swimming club. People travel from far and wide to take the plunge in the pretty lake and it’s quite spectacular. We’ve spotted everything from sparrow hawks to swans while plucking up the courage to take a dip. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Last but by no means least, there are tons of opportunities to learn and be inspired. Monthly Rooster Talks mix breakfast with thought-provoking presentations on everything from leadership to presentation skills. You’ll find regular workshops too, delving into everything from floristry to sales skills. A firm Muddy fave is the fascinating Wim Hof Method workshop, which includes breathwork and plunging into an ice bath.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-caffeine-fix">CAFFEINE FIX </h2>

<p>Now for <em>the </em>most important question: can I get a decent coffee? Yes, you can. There are hot drinks on the house, including Nespresso coffee machines, tea and a whizzy machine to froth your milk. You’ll find microwaves too, plus plenty of crockery and cutlery.</p>



<p>A BIG shout-out goes to the onsite café, Wild Herb at the Field Kitchen, which lures foodies from far and wide. By winter, the marquee-like structure is warmed by a roaring stove, and come summer people spill out onto sun-drenched tables to drink and dine al fresco. This haunt is also hugely popular with dog walkers and wild swimmers – you’ll regularly see them striding out across the fields, with the signature orange coffee cup in hand.</p>



<p>The coffee here is unfailingly excellent, and the food (which includes breakfasts, lunches and cakes) is sublime. Fuel your work mojo with a breakfast brioche, or tuck into everything from chicken coconut curry to Thai salad for lunch. A firm Muddy fave has to be the cheese toasties, but all the dishes we’ve tried (and there have been many) are fresh, nourishing and perfect for firing up your work mojo. Refreshingly, no bookings are required and and pooches are most welcome – Fido will find treats in a pot on the counter too.</p>
