<p>Looking for a run with epic views? This is the one for you. It starts in front of the impressive Longleat House, then follows an undulating (read hilly) route around the estate. If 10km seems a bit daunting, there’s a two-mile fun run (£10) that covers the first lap. The minimum age for fun run is eight, and it’s 15 for the biggie. Oh, and you’ll bag a fab lion medal too. <p>If you’re after a friendly vibe and a big mix of abilities, Park Run’s free weekly 5K event is ideal. Whether you’re a super sprinter or a steady Eddie, you’ll find plenty of people going at a speed that suits you. There are official pacers for anyone who’s chasing a specific time, plus a tail walker – so you’re pretty much guaranteed not to finish last. Park Run takes place at loads of locations in Wiltshire, including Lydiard Park in Swindon, Southwick in Trowbridge, Melksham, Marlborough, Salisbury, Chippenham and Westbury.</p>

<p>These 10K trail runs are free to enter, and take you on a challenging, multi-terrain jog (or sprint if you’re feeling zippy) through fields and woodland. Things kick off at 9am, on the fourth Sunday of the month (March to October), with registration at 8.30am. If you’re a keen bean and want to measure your pace, do bring your own device.</p>

<p>A smidge into Somerset, this half marathon takes runners round gorgeous, Georgian Bath. It’s also less hilly than you might think – the route straddles the Avon and involves closed road, culminating in a fabulous finish down Great Pulteney Street. <p>Not one for the faint-hearted, this 100km ultramarathon sees participants run along the glorious Ridgeway scenery, starting at Lewknor in Oxfordshire and finishing in Avebury, taking in historic hotspots such as Wayland’s Smithy, Uffington White Horse and Barbury Castle. The event kicks off in Ludgershall, then takes you on a stunning route across sprawling Salisbury Plain.
