How often are you caught unawares when someone takes a picture? Double-chin, eyes closed, glasses akimbo, that kind of thing? But how much do you love a natural, unguarded shot, especially for family celebrations, events, or your small business? Wiltshire-based photographer Ellie McCallum has that rare skill in being able to capture natural, intimate moments that flatter – which is why we used her for our Muddy Stiletto Awards Wiltshire in 2022. Working discreetly,  quickly and in natural light, and with our promotional banner that kept threatening to topple over, Ellie captured the essence of the day, the beauty and joy of the winners and delivered the results to us quickly. Ellie has a background in film and theatre which explains her visual talents, but has also has a successful candle-making business that she started when her children were younger – so she understands the demands of both working for yourself and motherhood. She says she likes to capture the “magical chaos of everyday life” and does so in a fun but relaxed way. We can’t recommend her highly enough for any portraiture or product photography too and look forward to seeing her career climb.
