Hartley Farm has recently moved its popular cafe into a vast barn. It’s beautifully done with fairy lights, wood-burning stove, and even a brightly coloured tractor. In fact it’s an improvement on previous incarnations: spacious, airy, atmospheric, and oh-so appropriate for a farm cafe.

There’s nothing like the smell of bacon (almost) outdoors, and breakfast offers burritos, filled muffins (bacon, sausage, avo & halloumi), granola. Hearty lunches include burgers, mac & cheese and warming dal, as well as sandwiches.

Hartley Farm is practically a day out in itself, with excellent shop (including florist, butchers and gifts); flower garden, kids play equipment, and coffee & gelato hut.

Walk off your lunch with a visit to the resident rabbits, chicken and horses, or take a stroll round the pretty lanes that lead directly off the farm.
