Muddy says: There’s lots of Muddy love for this quirky hub of crafty, inspired creativeness. Classes, courses, workshops, gallery and, of course, a cafe

Fancy an embroidery class? Fabric collage making? An inspired jewellery workshop? Or what about craft days and workshops perfect for keeping little ones entertained over the holidays? It’s all at New Brewery Arts, a wonderful, exciting arts venue that offers not only classes and courses but galleries, craft shop, makers studios and cafes. Inspiring, no?
Book here for the best of craft and creativity coming up, from needle felting to French polishing, pottery to pastels. For Mudlets, they run regular Saturday clubs and after school sessions for kids from 5-16, as well as a myriad of workshops and courses in the school hols.
Their main gallery has a programme of regularly changing exhibitions presenting work by some of the UK’s leading makers, designers and artists, exploring different materials, concepts and trends in contemporary craft. Plus, meet the makers themselves in their working studios. In the mood for a splurge? Their Craft Shop sells beautifully hand-crafted items for the home and individually designed jewellery and textiles, unique items created by extraordinary craftspeople.
*Book Ahead* for New Brewery Arts Summer School, 13 July – 23 August – a host of workshops covering all kinds of different crafts – sculpture, papercraft, textiles, printmaking, ceramics, stone carving, drawing and painting. Workshops are half, one, two or three days, and are run by experienced tutors, allowing you to explore a craft in greater depth. Got a crafty little one on your hands? These are a great way to keep the Mudsters busy on the loooooooong summer break.
And finally….Staying over? Make a break of it and turn your workshop into a short break by staying overnight in their new guest accommodation. The Barrel Store has 14 simple but stylish rooms, all with your name on them!
