There isn’t much that we can say about the glorious Wellington Barn that the views don’t already – have you seen them?! – but we’ll give it a go. This gorgeous family-run venue just outside of Chippenham is the ideal spot for tying the knot or throwing a lavish party, as it can easily accommodate anywhere from 30 to 300 guests.

The venue is exclusively yours, so you’ll have full access to both The Old and New Barn – the historic Old Barn was built in the 18th century and has a stunning vaulted ceiling with oak beams (aka the perfect rustic background for those ceremony shots), while the New Barn is larger and boasts huge glass windows looking out over the most spectacular countryside views. The two rooms are joined together by the modern yet rustic bar and large double doors, creating a large open plan venue for the rest of the day. Why not hold your ceremony in The Old Barn before coming through to the New Barn for your reception and wedding breakfast? Whatever you choose, the team at Wellington Barn will be more than happy to accommodate.

Speaking of accommodation, you have three options to choose from, lucky thing: three cosy shepherd huts, kitted out with all the mod cons (book out all of them and the venue will throw in a free fire pit); the glamping bell tents that can be made as luxe as you like (and come with flushable loos and hot showers, never fear); and the brand new Hyggee House, which sleeps 8-10 adults and overlooks the lake for a truly private getaway.

You’ll be thankful of the nearby accommodation after you’ve feasted on the menus provided by in-house caterer CleverChefs. This award-winning team uses local ingredient to whip up everything from traditional three-course sit-down meals to sharing platters, street food and even dessert tables measured by the metre.
