Do you fancy tucking into a lakeside dinner, cooked by a top chef on the stunning Fonthill Estate? Dining in Plain Sight is a new nomadic food experience, which invites guests to dine beyond the ordinary. Your evening will begin in a candlelit, custom–built glass marquee, overlooking the gorgeous lake at Quarry Wood. There, you’ll be served hyper-seasonal, restaurant-style canapés alongside English sparkling wine. A delicious three-course feast follows, all cooked over fire and coals.
Your chef for the night is none other than ex-River Cottage chef, James Whetlor. The founder of ethical meat company Cabrito, James is a regular at events including River Cottage Food Fair, Ludlow Food Festival, Wilderness, Food Rocks and Meatopia.
Sample dishes on James’ Dining in Plain Sight menus include lamb tartare and wild garlic, scallops cooking in their shells and tempered sirloin with Jersey royals and asparagus. Of course, there’s pudding too, such as grilled rhubarb with honey sabayon and toasted seed crumble. Yum. And an exclusive wine list has been chosen by the Dining in Plain Sight sommelier.

Dining in Plain Sight launches at Fonthill Estate on 23 April, with 8 exclusive dinners for up to 66 guests. The foodie extravaganza then re–emerges in June and July for the summer edition at Featherstone Flowers, a sustainable British flower farm and florist in the beautiful Test Valley, Hampshire.
