<p>We&#8217;re lucky enough to have more than our fair share of fabulous gastropubs in Wiltshire, and this year four of our foodie hotspots have made it into the Estrella Damm Top 100 Gastropubs &#8211; with one crashing into the <a href="https://www.top50gastropubs.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">top 50</a>. This prestigious list, now in its 16th year, is voted for by foodie industry insiders and we&#8217;re thrilled they&#8217;ve given a big fat nod to Wilts. Want to find out who won? <p>Massive congrats to The Longs Arms in South Wraxall, which scoops number 30 for 2025. Chef-patron Rob Allcock delights in creating a super-tasty menu that includes pub grub highlights, such as steak and kidney pie with butter mash. The homemade desserts are to die for &#8211; think the likes of caramel fondant with homemade tonka bean ice cream. Bread is baked daily on site, they make their own butter and even have their own smokehouse. </p>



<p><strong>Try this</strong>: Free range pork belly, black pudding, fondant potato, cauliflower puree, red cabbage, crackling.</p>

<p>Congrats to The Beckford Arms, which has shot up from 100th place to 67 for 2025. This pub sits in the gorgeous parkland on the Fonthill Estate, but the menu is just as impressive. Chef Adam Bristow and his talented team source meat and game from local farms, cheese from the Vale of Camelot and fresh leaves from The Beckford&#8217;s kitchen garden. </p>

<p>Sitting in the Insta-worthy village of Castle Combe, you&#8217;ve probably scrolled past this gem on social media. However, it serves a lot more than brilliant photo ops. Headed up by chef Jamie Barnett, the kitchen creates a mouth-watering selection of traditional gastro dishes with a focus on seasonal produce, plus  fab veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Try this</strong>: Belly of Sandridge pork with bubble &amp; squeak croquette, hand dived scallop and beetroot and apple.</p>

<p>Another returning contender from last year, you&#8217;ll find The Black Swan in a fine old Georgian townhouse. Owned by local brewer Wadworth, it&#8217;s none-the-less chef Kevin Chandler who owns the kitchen. He&#8217;s worked with some of the nation’s top chefs, including Rick Stein and now brings his experience and passion to The Black Swan. He&#8217;s forged a close relationship with suppliers like local butcher Walter Rose &amp; Son and fruit and veg wholesaler Lovejoys.&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>Try this</strong>: Ribeye steak with triple-cooked chips, portobello mushroom and slow-cooked tomato.</p>
