<p>If you haven&#8217;t had a chance to visit the <a href="https://www.bradleyhare.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Bradley Hare Inn</strong></a>&nbsp;since its revamp, this photo will tempt you over to Maiden Bradley. The pub recently reopened under the Beckford Group, and it’s looking mighty fine. </p>

<p>Meanwhile, things are bubbling along nicely with the group’s first hotel, Teffont House. It’s set to open in June, while Corsham House &#8211; a brasserie with bedrooms and a bottle shop &#8211; will be hot on its heels in July.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-chris-comes-to-wilts"><strong>Chris comes to Wilts</strong></h2>



<p>Ruby Wax and other big hitters are already lined up to perform in Wiltshire this year, and now Strictly sensation Chris McCausland is joining the party. He’ll headline Comedy Beats at Devizes Corn Exchange on 17 July, topping a trio of comedy acts. <a href="https://www.ticketsource.com/devizes-tickets/comedy-beats-chris-mccausland/e-kqjero" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tickets </a>(£25) have just gone live, and are selling fast.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-reopening-soon">Reopening soon&#8230;</h2>

<p>Renovations at <a href="https://crossgunsavoncliff.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Cross Guns</a> Avoncliff are going at a pace, under the watchful eye of Marianne and William Cartwright-Hignett. The duo own Iford Manor Estate and also recently revamped The Inn at Freshford, with great success. The Cross Guns is set to reopen in the next couple of weeks for drinks and light bites – we’re already picturing sunny afternoons in the beer garden beneath the aqueduct, rosé in hand.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-say-hello-to"><strong>Say hello to&#8230;</strong></h2>



<p>We’re lucky enough to have some stellar bakeries here in Wilts (hello Pipit and Pano Bakehouse), and now there’s a new kid on the block worth making a beeline for. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Whisk-Bakehouse/61584831212810/#" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Whisk Bakehouse</a> in Trowbridge specialises in gluten-free bakes, and they’ve been selling like hot cakes since it opened on 4<sup>th</sup> April. You can check it out in Castle Place.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-longleat-turns-60">Longleat turns 60</h2>

<p>We love this newly released vintage photo of<a href="https://www.longleat.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Longleat</a>, celebrating the safari park’s 60th anniversary. Planning a visit over the Easter holidays? Time it for <strong>11th –12th April</strong>, when anniversary celebrations will be in full swing — think zoo keeper talks, tethered hot air balloons, live music, garden games and an Easter trail to keep little adventurers happy.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-desk-goals">Desk goals</h2>



<p>Had enough of WFH? It’s worth keeping tabs on <a href="https://wearechapter.uk/#top" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chapter House</a>, which is set to open in Devizes this year. For anyone not in the know, this is the gorgeous Georgian building that was formerly Hen House. It’s set to offer coworking, private office space plus a café.</p>

<p>Calling all gym bunnies. Plans are afoot for a massive David Lloyd gym just south of Chippenham, at Southpoint Business Park. If things go ahead, it’ll have tennis and padel courts, indoor AND outdoor swimming pools, a sports hall, soft play, spa and spa garden. Phew.</p>
