<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ART: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Same Sea, Different Boat exhibition (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.wiltshirecreative.co.uk/whats-on/exhibitions/same-sea-different-boat-exhibition/" target="_blank">Same Sea, Different Boat exhibition</a>, Salisbury Arts Centre, from 11 Jan – 4 March</h2>



<p>Born out of the phrase &#8216;we&#8217;re all in the same boat&#8217;, this impressive, moving tapestry consists of hundreds of hand printed and stitched stories, created during the pandemic, when we were all in the same sea, but not necessarily the same boat! </p>



<p>Sue Brown, the project founder said: “The quilt is a metaphor for how the effects of the quarantine have isolated us, yet we have all been part of it. Making the piece open-ended also illustrates that Covid-19 will continue to shape our lives &#8211; everyone has their own isolation story, and we will help tell it”.</p>



<p>To muse on how the past few years have changed us all, we can&#8217;t recommend a visit to this piece of art enough.</p>

<p>Working with limited materials (think just pencils, wax and gouache (an opaque, water-soluble pigment) Poulsen&#8217;s artwork somehow soothes the soul just by looking at it. If you&#8217;re in the need of some downtime in the near year, a visit to this exhibition is a must. </p>

<p>Sidestep the multiplex in 2022 and instead head to this indie film screening of black comedy <em>Another Round</em> instead. It plays like a coming-of-age tale in reverse, as four middle-aged teachers deal with their collective mid-life crisis by putting a questionable academic theory to the test. They decided to see if maintaining a blood alcohol level of around 5% will increase productivity and improve well-being and happiness. </p>

Because no winter outfit is complete without a bobble hat, right?&nbsp;</p>



<p>Attendees will learn how to knit in the round to make a bespoke bobble hat, with a faux fur pom pom for extra style points. Whether you’ve never picked up a knitting needle before (me) or are accomplished in the art, all are welcome.</p>
