<a href="https://www.bowood.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bowood</a> kicks off its Spring Adventure on 5th April, and it’s a goodie. Find the (large) eggs hidden in the grounds, unscramble the letters and head to admissions to claim your treat. Things then step up a notch 18 – 21 April, when a super special rainbow egg can be found daily. This time it’s a family season ticket pass which is the prize!



Easter isn’t Easter without an egg escapade. From 29 March until 21 April, <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wiltshire/stourhead/events/f2dedb46-f3dd-468a-b5d8-83eafda7b76b" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stourhead</a> is spoiling us with its traditional Easter adventure. Grab a trail sheet, pick up your bunny ears and get hopping. Kids bag an egg at the end, and with Free From and vegan options on offer, nobody need feel left out. Trail costs £3.50, no need to book.



<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wiltshire/lacock/events/5cdf7642-b36c-46af-8f00-1ccfb1d72a75" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lacock</a> is getting in on the Easter action too, with a trail running from 5 &#8211; 21 April. Head to the Easter Gazebo in the Courtyard, then seek out the 10 nature inspired activities dotted around the grounds. This is also a great time to visit the gardens, which are looking blooming fabulous for spring.



<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wiltshire/avebury/things-to-do-in-avebury-manor" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Avebury Manor</a> is still closed for restoration work, but the gardens are going full throttle. Head there between 29 March and 21 April for an Easter trail (complete with choccy egg prize), plus you’ll find Mother’s Day crafts on 29 and 30 March.



At a loose end on Easter Monday? Head to <a href="https://www.glovefactorystudios.com/bank-holiday-monday-easter-egg-hunt-with-wishing-woods/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Glove Factory Studios</a> in Holt (10am-3:30pm) for an egg hunt inspired by children’s author Richard Scarry. Kids can set off on an adventure round the courtyard and lakes, where they’ll identify the activities that the animals (mostly bunnies) get up to in his books. Teens in tow? Park them at the fab café, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wildherbatthefieldkitchen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wild Herb at The Field Kitchen</a>, for a hot choc or cake. Tickets £7, well-behaved four legged friends are welcome.

There’s tons going on over at <a href="https://www.longleat.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Longleat</a> this Easter, from live show The Mystery of the Lost Eggs, to fluffy chicks, bunnies and crafts. Tickets also include the drive through safari park, walking safari, boat trip, railway, adventure playground and maze. Phew. Top tip: <a href="https://www.longleat.co.uk/tickets/standard" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Two day tickets</a> are better value and a great way to max out the fun.



Great news, <a href="https://www.wiltonhouse.co.uk/opening-and-admissions/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wilton House</a> is opening its Adventure Playground for the hols. You can visit from 6th to 10th and from 13th to 24th April. For anyone into classic cars, there’s also an exhibition over Easter weekend. With entry from a tenner, this is great value.



Stuck for Easter weekend ideas? Grab the family and head to one of the gorgeous cabins at <a href="https://campwell.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Campwell Farm</a>, near Bradford on Avon. With lambing tours, craft workshops, stargazing and hot chocs around the fire, you’ll earn some serious parent points. There’s an indoor heated pool too, plus a sauna session on the Sunday afternoon. A teeny hop out of Wiltshire takes you to <a href="https://www.forestryengland.uk/westonbirt-the-national-arboretum" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Westonbirt’s arboretum</a>, where you can join a series of themed wildlife walks and craft sessions. These range from nest building to mini beast hunts and making treats for garden birds. On Easter Monday, kids can shake their tail feathers at <a href="https://www.bradfordonavon.co.uk/events/event/duck-race-2025/#:~:text=We're%20busy%20getting%20ready,more%20fun%20this%20time%20around.">Bradford on Avon’s annual duck race</a>. Sponsor a duck for £2, then cheer it on as it bobs down the river, along with hundreds of others. There’s live music and food, plus prizes – including junior swimming lessons – up for grabs.



For some high-octane entertainment (and a whole lot of noise) head over to <a href="https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/">Castle Combe Circuit</a> for the season opener on 21 April. Race season kicks off with some serious track action from hot hatches, GTs and formula Fords. Expect the sound of shrieking tyres! Howard’s Day tickets cost from £15), under 16s go free.



Over at Roves Farm, families can get into the spring groove with a series of Easter themed events. Meet the newborn lambs, check out the Easter bunny show and get stuck into an egg hunt. There are goat races too, plus tractor washing and a funfair. Get a taste for the high life at <a href="https://www.theclimbingacademy.com/locations/the-arc/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Arc Climbing Academy</a> in Chippenham, which is running holiday clubs for children aged 8-15. Open to beginners and more experienced climbers, kids will get the chance to spend 90 minutes doing climbing and games with an instructor. The sport holiday camps at Dauntsey’s are an excellent chance to make use of the school’s top-notch facilities and expert tuition. You’ll find hockey, netball and cricket camps all running in the Easter holidays, all priced at £48 a day. Over in Devizes, <a href="https://www.braeside-education.co.uk/holiday-club/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Braeside</a> runs brilliant kids’ camps. If you haven’t given them a go, it’s a hard recommend from us. A full day comes in at £40, with activities including zip wire, fire lighting, survival craft, Easter cookery and canoeing. Clubs run from Monday 7th to Friday 11th April.



Even if you’re not jetting off to the slopes, kids can still hone their snow skills at&nbsp;<a href="https://southwiltsski.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">South Wilts Ski Club</a>. This is giant a state-of-the-art ski simulator, designed to fast track their technique. Every session comes with a professional instructor, making it an ideal way to get ahead before you hit the slopes for real. Petrolhead in the family? Let them rev it up over at M4 Karting, where kids can use the karts from aged 8 or minimotos from 15. Adults can get in on the action too, so get set to burn rubber! Instead of popping to the supermarket, why not take older teens to make their own Easter egg (4th and 11th April)? Led by local chocolatier and tutor Holly at <a href="https://www.hollychocs.com/collections/chocolate-masterclasses" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hollychocs</a>, you’ll both learn how to make stunning choccy shells like a pro, before creating gorgeous chocs to fill your egg. Dairy free chocolate available too. £70pp, suitable for 14+.



Fire up their inner creative genius, with a workshop at the gorgeous <a href="https://www.wildlingstudio.co.uk/easter-holidays" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wildling Studio</a>. Potter Sarah Glazier Hart will show budding ceramicists how to make egg cups on 8th April, while paper making is on the agenda for 10th. On 17th there’s the chance to imprint ceramic plates with pretty botanicals. Tickets £20 and they sell out fast, so get in quick.



From 1- LEGO fans in the family? Pop to <a href="https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/whats-on/lego-brick-build-stonehenge/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stonehenge</a> this Easter holidays, where thousands of LEGO® bricks will be transformed into a huge sculpture under the expert guidance of the resident master builders. The brick building extravaganza runs from 12 until 21 April, when you can join the pull pull-apart party. Kids aged four and over can join in for free, and adults are welcome to lend a hand. If your brood are hankering after a spot of spring-inspired arts and crafts, try <a href="https://poundarts.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Pound Arts Centre</a> in Corsham. On 7 April, kids can have a go at <a href="https://poundarts.org.uk/take-part/easter-junk-modelling/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">junk modelling</a>, or they can learn how to make felt Easter chicks on 8th. There’s also the chance to make a ‘<a href="https://poundarts.org.uk/take-part/make-a-play-in-a-day/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">play in a day’</a> on 15th April, led by Dora, the Pound’s Youth Theatre leader. &nbsp;



Fastest fingers first! <a href="https://thefarmcookeryschool.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Farm Cookery School</a> near Bromham has a few spaces left for its fabulous Easter classes. With pizza bombs, chocolate egg cookie cups and Easter biscuits on the menu, what’s not to like? There are different sessions for all ages, ranging from four-year-olds to teens. We’d highly recommend the adult and teen ‘cook together’ sessions too, such as <a href="https://thefarmcookeryschool.co.uk/event/cook-together-adult-teen-14-dumpling-making/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dumpling making</a> on 10th April. For a spot of sustainable crafting, <a href="https://www.wiltshirescrapstore.org.uk/?v=79cba1185463" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Wiltshire Scrapstore</a> is holding Easter art clubs on 10, 11 and 17 April. The 90-minute sessions give kids aged 3 to 11 a chance to unleash their creativity and make the best out of waste. If you haven’t heard of the Scrapstore, it’s a brilliant charitable initiative that collects resources that would otherwise go to landfill and uses them for arts and crafts. The Pound Arts Centre has oodles of Easter activities, and one of our faves has to be <a href="https://poundarts.org.uk/whats-on/the-amazing-bubble-man-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Amazing Bubble Man</a>. Louis Pearl thrills audiences around the world with the magic art of bubbles, and he’s been a sell-out success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for 14 years. On 6 April he’ll be mesmerising us with everything from square bubbles to bubbles inside bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, bubble volcanoes and even people inside bubbles. Phew. <a href="https://poundarts.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/1173649709" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tickets</a> £15, but they are selling faster than hot cross buns. 



<a href="https://www.wiltshiremusic.org.uk/event/west-of-england-youth-orchestra-relaxed-family-concert/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wiltshire Music Centre’s</a> family concerts are a great way to get little toes tapping, without stressing when everyone gets a bit fidgety. Head over there on 6 April, when Little Bulb Theatre is celebrating Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with puppetry, theatre and seasonally inspired tracks. Trying to entertain hard-to-please teens? Whisk them over to see The Da Vinci Code at Salisbury Playhouse (from 10 April). This production of Dan Brown’s thriller promises to be electrifying. Directed by award-winning Chelsea Walker, it involves more twists and turns than you can shake a snowdrop at. Kids into dinosaurs? Take them to the<a href="https://trafalgartickets.com/wyvern-theatre-swindon/en-GB/event/family/natural-history-museum-presents-dinosaurs-live-tickets" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Wyvern Theatre</a> on 19 April, when the Natural History Museum will take you on a prehistoric adventure. You’ll watch life like dinosaurs come alive on stage, plus you’ll learn about fossils, time scales and how our planet has changed over millions of years.
