Frazzled parents, rejoice. If you’re looking for a family break with younger kids, this is it. Woolley Grange is a honey-hued Jacobean Manor, with an all-guns-blazing set-up for families, including Ofsted-registered creche, teen club, movie nights, two pools, croquet lawn, trampoline, baby listening and more. Phew.

Set within stiletto-throwing distance of beautiful Bradford on Avon, there is tons to do in the area and, quite frankly, tons to keep you and your brood busy at the hotel. Woolley Grange is unapologetically family-focused, with cosy lounges (perfect for board games) and acres of gardens to roam. Furry friends are welcome too, and they’ll even be provided with their own bed and tea time menu. The grounds are basically childhood distilled: a zipline, football nets, and a ground-level trampoline.

The whole set-up here is designed to make travelling with kids in tow as stress free as possible, and it works. Rooms (all newly refurbished) come in a pleasing sweep of sizes and styles, from Cosy boltholes for couples to generous Suites designed for families who come with half the contents of their home in tow. You’ll find Bugaboo cots and pushchairs available to borrow, crowd-pleasing children’s menus (including a dedicated kids’ afternoon tea) and baby food for little ones. There are even table games to hand, like Dobble, to help keep everyone entertained.

Parents can take advantage of two hours of Ofsted-registered childcare per night’s stay, plus there are daily activities, cinema sessions and an indoor and outdoor pool. While children bake, build, and explore with the trained team, parents can retreat to the spa for a treatment, or grab a coffee and explore the walled garden.
