<p>This dedicated Pick Your Own Farm is bursting with fruit and veg to pop in your basket all year round, so it&#8217;s no surprise that there&#8217;s an abundance of pumpkins to pimp up your Halloween display. Even better, you don&#8217;t need to book ahead, just turn up and get stuck in &#8211; entrance to the field is free, pay only for what you pick. Once you&#8217;ve chosen your favourite(s) grab a flat white in the tearoom, while the kids explore the adventure playground or visit the animal enclosure. </p>

<p>Following a stellar couple of years, Tan Hill Farm is back with its brilliant PYO pumpkins (open 25th-31st Oct). As well as pumpkins, you’ll get to enjoy trailer rides, a bale maze, spooky sunflower walk, a photo booth and Halloween-themed arts and crafts. Phew! Entry is free as is parking, you just pay for your haul. There&#8217;s also no need to book. </p>

<p>This PYO and Farm Shop is known for their fun Pumpkin Games as well as their well-stocked patch. This year it&#8217;s all about carving-style pumpkins, with plenty of ghostly white varieties on offer. You&#8217;ll also find fab, pumpkin-themed games. create a pumpkin trail story and set up some super fun pumpkin related games. No need to book &#8211; just pop on over!  </p>

<p>Roves Farm is certainly getting into the spooky swing of things. Budding witches and wizards can pick a pumpkin from the stash in the barn, then get carving (we hear your sigh of relief that you can avoid the mess at home). Afterwards, hone your magic skills with potion and wand making lessons. Ghoulish fancy dress is positively encouraged, plus there are prizes for the best costumes too. Older kids in tow? Head over for a Friday Fright Night instead. They&#8217;ll aboard the tractor trailer for a spooky journey around the farm, watching out for zombies and creepy characters in the shadows. This is very much a PG event, not for anyone scared of the dark! Tickets £18.80.</p>

<p>Lara and the crew opened Pomeroy Farm&#8217;s pumpkin field for the first time this year, and it&#8217;s been a great success. Saturday 26th is the last day, so get in quick. Expect Halloween-style bakes, hot drinks and free entry too. </p>

<p>Whitehall loves a seasonal spectacular and you&#8217;ll find pumpkin carving at all three garden centres (Lacock, Woodborough and Whitchurch) from 24th-1st Nov. It does get busy, so make sure you snap up your spot in advance &#8211; it&#8217;s £4.99 per pumpkin, but they&#8217;ll provide the tools and tea light. If you want to up the ante, Lacock is throwing a <a href="https://www.whitehallgardencentre.co.uk/collections/events/products/spooky-walk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">spooky walk</a> too &#8211; keep an eye out for ghosts, bats, spiders and the odd zombie too. </p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve driven past this popular farm shop, you can&#8217;t fail to notice the pumpkins piled high on trailers and sitting out in the fields. The pumpkin selection here is usually pretty fabulous, and you can stock up on all your other fruit and veg at the same time. </p>

Head to Roots Allotment over in Newton Saint Loe, where you’ll find lantern-lit pumpkin fields, Baileys hot chocs, beer, cider and marshmallow toasting around the fire pits. Grab an Insta-worthy photo under the twinkling pumpkin before you head off into the night. Pay for what you pick, then muster up the courage to enter the Murder Mystery Maze, or get stuck into some themed arts and crafts. On 26th October, there&#8217;s torchlight PYO in the murder mystery maze, with hot choc and toasted marshmallows to keep you cosy (tickets must be pre-booked).</p>

<p>Just over the border in West Berkshire, <a href="https://www.cobbsfarmshops.co.uk/hungerford-events/the-pumpkin-patch-2023">Cobbs Farm Shop</a> is open for pumpkin picking season until 29th October. There’s no need to book or pay for entry &#8211; just grab a wheelbarrow and pick away, pay for what you pick then head to the café to recover. Four-legged friends are welcome to join in the fun. </p>
