<p>Every year, this transport museum holds its own Christmas fair with around 50 stalls, Santa (additional cost) and plenty of singing from local and stage school choirs. Ticketed event as it includes entrance to the museum. Book in advance, but hurry, it sells out quick.</p>

<p>Support the great work of Julia&#8217;s House while snapping up artisan gifts. You can join in wreath making sessions too (pre-bookable), plus kids can make their own Christmas ornaments. There&#8217;s also pop up café, with sweet and savoury treats. </p>

<p>You’ll find a meticulously curated array of gifts at Clem’s festive fair, all from brilliant indies that really excel in their field. Think block printed linens, handmade jewellery, alpaca knits and colourful homewares. There’s coffee and cake from popular local haunt, <a href="https://birdandcarter.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bird and Carter</a>, too.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll find festive food and drinks, plus handcrafted gifts at this market. It&#8217;s held 4-9pm on 28 Nov and 10am &#8211; 4pm on 29 Nov, and entry is free. Heads up: On the evening of 28 Nov, there&#8217;s also the town Christmas lights switch-on and lantern parade. <p>This fab farm shop is awash with divine produce, much of it locally sourced. Head there on the evenings of 28 Nov and 18 Dec for late night shopping (until 8pm), aided by free mulled wine and mince pies.</p>

<p>Pop to Bowood on the evening of 1 Dec or during the day on 2 Dec, for live music, food and tons of gift inspo. <p><a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wiltshire/lacock/events/0e4a47da-4c62-4e85-a97a-33b09748cf36?origin=search" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lacock Abbey</a> is getting in on the action too, with a pop-up shop in the village’s Manger Barn. It’ll be the setting for a sparkling Christmas shop, stuffed with local crafts and sustainable gifts. Check it out on select days from 14 Nov until 7 Dec. </p>

<p>Christmas comes early in Highworth too, with a festive extravaganza on 29 Nov. With over 60 stalls, a giant snow globe, choirs and light switch-on, it’s pretty much guaranteed to jingle your bells. Oh, and Father Christmas is set to make an appearance, so we&#8217;re sold! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-great-chalfield-christmas-fair-13-december"><a href="https://greatchalfield.co.uk/index.php?id=tester01a" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Great Chalfield Christmas Fair</a>, 13 December</h2>



<p>This one is a truly lovely location (if you haven&#8217;t been to Great Chalfield, chances are you&#8217;ve seen it on <em>Wolf Hall</em> or <em>Poldark</em>). Expect carols and a roaring fire in the Great Hall, 20+ stalls selling locally produced food, drink and gifts, plus hot drinks from The Greatest Little Coffee Box. Entry is a fiver, kids go free. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-avebury-christmas-market-6-amp-7-dec"><a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wiltshire/avebury/christmas-at-avebury" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Avebury Christmas Market</a>, 6 &amp; 7 Dec</h2>



<p>Avebury is atmospheric at the best of times, and it comes into its own over Christmas. Head to the 17th Century Threshing Barn for carols, music and local makers, then pop to Avebury Manor to see the gorgeous Christmas decorations. It&#8217;s set to reopen to the public on 29 Nov, after extensive flood repairs. Do bring cash to the market, because patchy mobile reception makes card payment tricky. </p>

<p>Sample festive foods from the farm, like pigs in blankets, turkey, mince pies and all the trimmings while picking up some hand-crafted Christmas presents too. Expect goodies from the likes of Ramsbury Gin, Baboo Gelato, Croome Cheese, Tracklements and more. </p>

<p>This is the biggie in the South West. Kicking off on 27 Nov, Bath Christmas Market is one of the most delightful in the UK. Expect a multitude of twinkling wooden chalets, set against the city’s iconic landmarks and selling everything from handmade jewellery, to homewares, food and drink. Plus of course there’s more mulled wine and caramelised nuts than you can shake a snowflake at.</p>

<p>Are you ready to get merry? Head to Bristol for a fabulously festive atmosphere, some 40 stalls, plus Santa, his elves and luxe private igloos to hire. There&#8217;s also a Jäger Barn Bar, plus the brand-new Bar Glissè. For a little escape from the bustle of the market, you can even book  a private ski gondola or charming hot air balloon basket.</p>

<p>Frome is so close to Wilts, it won&#8217;t take long for you to get to the town&#8217;s last indie market of the year. Expect lashings of local, seasonal and regional food/drink producers, sustainable products, contemporary design, vintage fashion, collectibles and furniture. This one&#8217;s a corker! 10am – 3pm.</p>
