Muddy Award Winners Drinks 2021
Some of the best local small businesses gathered, bonded and drank bucks fizz. Fancy a sneaky peak at proceedings?
What a day! Luckily photographer Jen Allan was on hand to keep a record of our morning at the glorious Old Bell Hotel in Malmesbury.
You’re a busy lot, so we made it a “working” breakfast. Will they go for Prosecco at 10am we wondered? Let’s just say extra glasses were required by 10.30.
The sun shone (27 degrees? What the actual), pink shoulders were spotted, but ah well – September in England you’re grateful for whatever rays you can get.
Respect to the girls from Vitality Day Spa and Timbrell’s Yard who were making a day of it and staying for lunch in the hotel afterwards (which, we can report, was “lush”.) We love Laurie from Timbrell’s insta reel of the day.
It was amazing to bring together all these incredible people, mostly women natch, and see them connecting and bonding. Friends were make, deals were done (no, we couldn’t possibly say).
We’re grateful to the Old Bell Hotel for hosting so beautifully. Texan boss Kim Hanks said a few inspiring words in support of small local businesses, stressing the importance of our support network. I don’t think I was the only one with something in my eye. Kim certainly brings an injection of energy and personality to this little Wiltshire town.
Helen Taylor from Wiltshire Creative was the jammy winner of the prize draw for a night at the Old Bell, kindly donated by the hotel. If she needs some cocktail drinking partners she knows where to find us.
Of course we couldn’t resist a little stagger and snoop around the hotel. After all, it’s just undergoing an extremely glam refurb. We can report a large selection of gorgeous wallpapers, eccentric artefacts from around the globe, a charming barman from London who knows his cocktails and a menu to die for.
Oh yes, you’ll be hearing more from this place. In the meantime THANK-YOU Old Bell Hotel, we’ll be back soon.
Well, phew-ee, that’s it for another year. Muddy awards season is a slightly crazy but extremely rewarding time and we’re thrilled to have culminated it with such an enjoyable bash. Thank-you and so many congratulations to everyone who took part.
Like our photos of the day? (except 1st and last photos of hotel) They’re by @jenallanbrandphotography. I know many of you met Jen on the day. She’s super-relaxed, and loves to work with small businesses to maximise their potential.
