<p>Looking for a race in Wiltshire with glorious views? This has your name on it. It starts in front of Longleat House, then follows an undulating (read hilly) route around the estate. If 10km seems a bit daunting, there’s a two-mile fun run (£10) that covers the first lap. The minimum age for fun run is eight, and it’s 15 for the biggie. <p>Raise funds to beat cancer and give yourself a bit of a challenge, with this Salisbury-based Race for Life. There&#8217;s a 5K and 10K option, most of which involve cross country type tracks. You&#8217;ll also find some spectacular views, plus the odd hill along the way. <a href="https://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/find-an-event/hudsons-field-5k-2026-06-21-1100" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Entry</a> from £11, and it&#8217;s at Hudson&#8217;s Field. </p>

<p><strong>When: Fourth Sunday of the month, March &#8211; Oct</strong></p>



<p>These 10K trail runs are free to enter, and take you on a challenging, multi-terrain jog (or sprint if you’re feeling zippy) through fields and woodland. The schedule isn&#8217;t set for 2026 yet but things tend to kick off at 9am, on the fourth Sunday of the month (March to October), with registration at 8.30am. If you’re a keen bean and want to measure your pace, do bring your own device.</p>

<p>On your marks! This race in Wiltshire is fiercely popular, and entries sell out long in advance. Get in quick for a chance to pound the pavements around one of Wiltshire’s prettiest towns. The 10K is open to runners age 16 and over, while the 2K trot is open to anyone aged 5 -16. </p>

<p>If you’re after a friendly vibe and a big mix of abilities, Parkrun’s free weekly 5K event is ideal. Whether you’re a super sprinter or a steady Eddie, you’ll find plenty of people going at a speed that suits you. There are official pacers for anyone who’s chasing a specific time, plus a tail walker – so you’re pretty much guaranteed not to finish last. Parkrun&#8217;s take place at LOADS of locations in Wiltshire, including Andover, Swindon, Southwick, Melksham, Marlborough, Salisbury and Chippenham.</p>

<p>Not one for the faint-hearted, this 100km ultramarathon sees participants run along the glorious Ridgeway scenery, taking in historic hotspots such as Uffington White Horse, Avebury&#8217;s ancient stone circle and Barbury Castle. The mere thought of running 100km has us breaking us out in a cold sweat, but the fact that you’re treated to incredible scenery surely makes it much more manageable!&nbsp;Places from £44.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-chippenham-half-marathon"><a href="https://www.chippenhamhalfmarathon.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chippenham half marathon</a></h2>



<p><strong>When: 13th Sept 2026</strong></p>



<p>This is 13-mile race in Wiltshire is mostly flat, making it ideal for anyone wanting to get a personal best. It&#8217;ll take you through the centre of Chippenham, before heading onto the pretty villages of East Tytherton, Kellaways and Langley Burrell. Lastly, it&#8217;s a fast downhill finish back into town. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-bath-half"><strong><a href="https://bathhalf.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Bath Half</a></strong></h2>



<p><strong>When: 15th March 2026 </strong></p>



<p>A smidge into Somerset, this half marathon takes runners round gorgeous, Georgian Bath. It’s also less hilly than you might think – the route straddles the Avon and involves closed road, culminating in a fabulous finish down Great Pulteney Street. Regular spaces get snapped up mega fast, so get your skates on and apply to run for <a href="https://www.londonmarathonevents.co.uk/bath-half/run-charity" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">charity</a>. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-devizes-half-marathon"><a href="https://www.devizeshalfmarathon.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Devizes half marathon</a> </h2>



<p><strong>When: 22nd March 2026</strong></p>



<p>This race day is a great way to take in pretty Devizes. The half-marathon (early bird entry from £30) starts next to The Green, before looping through scenic surrounding villages, including All Cannings and Etchilhampton. It&#8217;s an undulating course but don&#8217;t be put off, many runners gain their PB here. </p>

<p>This one includes a beer in your entry fee, which sounds like a great way to celebrate your achievement. The race kicks off by the tap room at Ramsbury Distillery, before winding through local trails, woodlands, and footpaths. <p><strong>When: 25th Oct 2026 </strong></p>



<p>The Andover Half promises a mixed-terrain course (mostly paved) with sweeping views, including three Iron Age hill forts. Expect chip timing, way-marked course, marshals and checkpoints. The generous 3½ hour cut-off should reassure anyone who fears they&#8217;re a steady Eddie. </p>

<p>More of a night owl? This evening triathlon series (from £35) involves a 400m swim in the lake, 12km road cycle through the Cotswolds and 4.5km run on the lake path. <p>This one is perfect for anyone who prefers a pool swim. <p>This fab event in Calne has something for everyone. For the speedy Gonzales among us there’s a sprint triathlon, but there’s also a team relay. Pedal power not your thing? There’s even an aquathlon, which skips the bike, plus a duathlon, which skips the swim.
